Since I am expanding my bou'doir dance business to include private pole dance parties in the home, and we are hiring instructors in Sacramento, Modesto, and surrounding Counties for www.jewelsexpression.com. I thought I had better take a few pole dance classes and try this out!
Oh my! What hard work this is!! Mind you, I am pushing 50 and have been working on a goal of losing 50 lbs by 50 years of age. Still have a way to go, but Oh My!!
So here I go, wearing shorter shorts than I have worn in years, platform shoes, and a tank top. Not so cute for a 50 by 50 year old. Apparently I signed up for the wrong class. I was a beginner. They were up on the pole and doing "tricks". This meant that I needed "special attention" for help to get up on the pole. Special attention was not what I was looking for, but I got it.
To get up on the pole I was told to wrap one leg around the pole, use my "traps" to pull up (huh?), get my body and pelvic bone against the pole, then swing around as I slowly come down the pole, easy. No problem!
My lovely lady lumps did not allow the pole to press up against by pelvic bone, so as I was spinning around towards the floor, trying not to scream, my inner thighs were stuck on the pole and kept me glued while my body was turning! I came down with a thump! The instructor, bless her heart, told me that I did good for the first time (ha!, I doubt that). I told her my butt was too heavy and was pulling me down. I didn't want to tell her that the skin has pulled off my thighs, because they were too fat and blocking my pelvic bone, pole connection.
Needless to say, I ended up sore, sweating and loving it! I am addicted! I drove home laughing at myself and mad at myself. Being competitive, I decided that I will master this!
Of course, my dance instructors that come to your house are much better than I for pole dance lessons. They are lovely, younger and strong! But don't let this stop you from trying this out. It is soooo much fun! There are also ways to dance with the pole without climbing and doing "tricks".
Send me your hilarious pole dance stories. I will send the funniest story I receive before my next posting, "shoe money" to shop at http://www.jewelsexpression.com/catalog/.
Check in next week for my trouble with getting my man to erect my pole in the garage!
